RE: support under the leveler feet

Been a couple of parks in CA and Bankston dealer in AL had just put down new asphalt and required them. That is usually the reason for pads. Otherwise you just sink down in fresh asphalt.

RE: WIFI on the move!

Well I just signed up, anyone using this?
Take a look
I'm looking at this site and it is nothing more than a 'wifi' router as the link provided states. That just means you are tapping into other services via wifi thru a router you have to buy?
Why would anyone 'pay' for a router to do this when you computer is already set up to get wifi for free?:H
Here is ONE interesting spec of this product:
What is the connection range for Autonet Mobile?
Typically, you can connect from up to 100 feet away.
While you are drving down the road you have to be within
100 feet away? Sounds just like plain ole wifi to me only
they are getting people to buy their product.
You can already do that for free with your computer.:R
And people are actually buying this?
I have EVDO, monthly fee, plug in usb online anywhere anytime, warp speeds. I personally refuse to reduce myself to sitting outside in my MH trying to tap into WIFI spots outside a burger joint or coffee house.:B
Yeah rite!!!!!!!!!!:S

RE: WIFI on the move!

I was in the car business and had to deal with the K-car (Ford should be very glad they fired Iaccoa before they produced it). Hopefully I will have much better luck with Autonet.

RE: Do you lock your doors when you leave your rv when at a park

Had my MH and hse robbed at the same time twice within weeks. Came back the second time for the stuff he left the first time. My wife just missed the perp by minutes the first time. Same tweeker both times. I offered rewards until he was caught.

RE: WIFI on the move!

Of course if the "other" services also require a cell phone contract costing $XXXX for 2 years that totally changes the equation. The "others" lose big time.
fyi, none of the carriers require a voice plan to qualify for data plan anymore. that stopped a long time ago.
One would think that in 2 months they could find somebody that can update a web site
i share your sentiment. even worse is that at least two customers appear to have made efforts to call for answers they could not find on company's site, and the customers STILL struggled to some extent, to get straight answers.
Just pickup the phone and they will send you or tell you everthing! Have not had any problems getting any of my questions answered. With the amount of sales they have, Chrys, rentals, etc. porbaby don't need a website.

Don't know what the speeds are
go here: http://speedtest.net and choose a test server nearest you.
then post the results graphic, like this:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/301909378.png
I don't care what the speeds or specs are! You missed my point, working with excetpional low Verizon reception and just as fast as what I use in my hse. That's all I was looking for. This will be my last post on this subject, to much BS.

RE: WIFI on the move!

Well I got it working, just had to find the right settings. Don't know what the speeds are, but working just as good as my Clearwire in the hse. Only have one bar on my Verizon phone. Not all the RV parks I have been in are free, or work, or even have WIFI.

RE: WIFI on the move!

When I talked to them, I was told they had agreements in Canada and I assumed it was Verizon only. The unit was $499 and I did installation. All you have is positive and ground wires to wire in. It also came with a cig lighter, which I will use the most. Probably just put some velcro on the bottom and leave on my MH dash when in use and store when moving. I haven't been able to try it yet (I can't try it yet because I can't get a strong enough cell signal at my hse. My cell phone doesn't work also and I'm with Verizon. Had AT&T before and it didn't work also). When I hit the road in the next couple of weeks, I will update.

RE: Do you lock your doors when you leave your rv when at a park

My lock went haywire a month ago and I didn't know how I was going to get in without breaking a window. Hopefully someone would become suspicious if this happened and notify someone. My deadbolt is really long and no way would you pry the door open.

RE: Camping World Sponsorship

That's part of the U.S. financial problems, CEO's that are greedy, egotistical
and stupid.
I sure wish I was that stupid and kock down 5-6 million a year.
I think the companies that pay them that much are the stupid ones....
Right and the stock holders also. And right again about being stupid. Have you ever checked the prices at CW.

RE: Do you lock your doors when you leave your rv when at a park

Depends on the rv park. If it looks kinda "seedy"....I lock. If it's a nice place....I don't. If leaving for a long period, then yes. Just out for a meal..no.
I've never locked my car either...in fact I leave my keys on the driver side floor. If anyone wants my car, they would find a way to break in. I've never encountered a problem, or anything stolen.

Also works in Canada for no extra cost.
That's huge! I looked on their website and can't find any information about service coverage areas, or plans. Can anyone give me a link for this detail?
You can call them and they will email you a map or you can go to Verizon website.
So they use Verizon for service? Do you have to pay Verizon in addition to the monthly fee for this service?
No

Always lock, I want my stuff to remain in the RV. Comfort level depends on where we are.

RE: WIFI on the move!

I only wanted it for a single vehicle (could use cigarette lighter in different vehicles if I wanted to use it that way) and it is $499 and $39 a month. That is about 1 tank of fuel, no battery expense, use up to a 100 ft of MH, so I can use outside while my wife uses her laptop inside. I usually don’t walk down the street with my laptop. I guess I could carry a 12volt battery if I wanted to use it that way. Maybe put everything in a wheel barrel or backpack. Probably would run about 4 months on the 12 volt. Also works in Canada for no extra cost.
I don't walk down the street with my laptop either but I do have a Nokia N800 internet tablet that is portable enough to do that.
The point I was making is that the aircard/router combo is more versatile.
Regardless, I hope the autonet setup is everything you want it to be.
I know, I was being facetious, I have a Nokia also, used it a lot in Europe.

RE: WIFI on the move!

How much to purchase the device and how much is the service per month?
I use a Verizon aircard which I got free for a 2 year contract with a Cradlepoint CTR-350 wireless router that gives me the ability to have wifi, not only in the car while underway, but in the RV or even walking down the street. The ctr-350 cost $140 and my Verizon service is $50/month. I run the router with a 4 D cell battery pack that lasts 15 hours powering the router and aircard.
The autonet solution seems to tie you to a single vehicle but might be OK if the hardware is less expensive or the monthly service is less costly or doesn't have a data cap.

RE: WIFI on the move!

It is easier to use the Verizon aircard.
I don't know how much easier it could be, unless your Verizon aircard turns on your computer.
